I really like this Tesla roof shade for our Model Y! And here's why:
PACKAGING: The packaging is very nice and branded to look like Tesla OEM. Out of the box, all the items come in a zippered storage bag which is great because you're probably not going to have this up 365 days a year. Clips come in two plastic boxes and the two shades origami fold into the bag somewhat intuitively. The who package stores flat and will fit in the sub-trunk area but we will store in our garage.
INSTALLATION: There are no instructions in this item but if you've seen any YouTube videos, the installation is pretty intuitive. It took me about a minute to install the front half and another minute or two for the rear/connect the two pieces. So it's really easy and removal is even faster.
QUALITY: The materials on this are very nice. The part that faces the inside of the vehicle is a nice soft white fabric while the part that faces the sky is reflective. Clips affix to the rails of the shades securely and look nice and tidy after install. The storage bag isn't high end but it's fine for what it does. And it's super thin so installed it doesn't take away from the nice headroom in the back.
OVERALL: I got this in anticipation of the summer where our temps can reach over 100 but it's still winter so not sure how much it will cool the car. But I suspect it will operate much like a reflective windshield and do a great job at keeping the car nice and cool. I'm very happy and highly recommend this item.
